This story is made in partnership with Barenbliss

The Barenbliss Peach Makes Perfect Tint is one of my go-to daily lip products, as it doesn’t dry my lips and leaves such a nice stain as it starts to fade. The shades available as also quite pretty and fresh, plus it has a glossy finish which I find makes my lips look fuller. Can’t go wrong with that! It’s pretty affordable too at P399 (and they go on sale often) which makes it an easy pick for casual days.

So, I was excited to properly test the Bloom Matte Transferproof Tint (P399) this time since they have some all-new colors!

Matte lip products are returning to our collective makeup consciousness once more but this time with a more updated formulation. Gone are the days of heavy, super thick mattes. This time, Barenbliss has brought us a lip product that starts out like a glossy balm which then FULLY sets into a matte finish that feels flexible on the lips.

I particularly love the shades 02 Magical Mimosa, 04 Sunny Rose, and 09 Tulip Flush! I thought the nude shade, 07 Water Lily, was strange at first but then I realized how to use it: it’s to help create the perfect ombre lip. It’s fully opaque, as well, for a beige-tan color. It “conceals” the lips so you can create color gradation.

So is the Bloom Matte Transferproof Tint indeed transfer-proof? Yes! Once it sets, it won’t transfer anymore as it completely solidifies but without feeling like an immovable layer. It’s opaque as well in one layer, and ideally it is applied in one go so that it doesn’t look too 2016 if you know what I mean.

One layer also means that you’ll get better longevity as you’re not adding unecessary texture. If I’m not eating, this can stay opaque for up to four hours with a few drinks. If I’m eating, it will start to fade as it will break the “seal” so to speak. The stronger colors will leave a hint of stain though.

The best way to apply the Transferproof Tint is to prime your lips with balm first, blot, and then place one layer of color. Don’t move your lips until it is fully dry and matte, about a minute! That’s how you get it to last for as long as possible.

Overall, I enjoy the Barenbliss Bloom Matte Transferproof Tint and will be keeping these around for when I have an appetite for a matte lip. The formula is great and the colors have a good range. Which shade speaks to you the most?
