I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz around the Ever Bilena Matte Face Powder. Apparently, it’s one of the brand’s best-selling products. That alone got me quite curious about the powder, but what really pushed me to try it was how often I’d see it pop up on TikTok and even in real life. I’ve actually spotted a few women at the mall casually pulling it out of their bags for a quick retouch, like it’s just a regular part of their routine. At around P150, depending on the promo, it’s remarkably budget-friendly. I’ll admit, I had a few biases because of the price, but I figured, why not? Let’s see what all the fuss is about. Here’s how it went!

I’ve been testing the Ever Bilena Matte Face Powder (P150 / 10g) for a couple of weeks now. Right out of the compact, the first thing I noticed was how smoothly it goes on. Whether I used a sponge or a brush, it blended effortlessly and settled into the skin with a soft matte finish. It didn’t emphasize texture or dryness, which is something I always look out for in matte powders especially now that I’m on isotretinoin and my skin has gotten drier and flakier. The best way I can describe the finish is mochi-like. Think of the dessert and its velvety surface. That’s exactly how this powder looks on skin!

Coverage is on the light to medium side. I often use it alone over spot-concealed areas and feel like my base looks even and polished without being heavy. This can also be used on top of foundation or tinted sunscreen, and it sets everything without caking or turning patchy. It builds nicely too, so you can dial up the coverage a bit if needed.
What really impressed me was how long it lasted. I’ve worn this for around seven hours on normal-combo skin without any setting spray, and it held up with minimal fading. No creasing around the nose and cracking along smile lines. That kind of wear time is rare in powders at this price, especially when worn alone.

Shade-wise, I found a match in Warm Beige, which is just before the darkest shade in the range. It suits my medium skin tone quite well, but the shade selection overall is quite limited. There are five shades available, and three of them are on the lighter side. The darkest one, Tan, leans quite orange, which may not suit deeper or cooler skin tones. It’s a bit frustrating because the formula is actually good, but not everyone will be able to use it comfortably due to the limited options.

There are some other things to keep in mind. The powder has a noticeable scent. You know that old school powder scent? Yup, that’s the one. It does fade after a couple of minutes, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, it might be a dealbreaker. Also, there’s a fair bit of powder kick-up when using a brush, so it’s best to go in with a light hand or stick to the included sponge for more control.
Packaging-wise, I appreciate the slim compact and the generous mirror inside. It’s lightweight and easy to slip into a small bag. The puff is okay in a pinch, but I still prefer using a brush for a more polished finish.
Overall, I think that the Ever Bilena Matte Face Powder is a solid everyday powder for people who want something for that suits oily skin, wears well in our heat and humidity, and looks fantastic on a budget. It won’t replace your high-end faves if you’re used to those, BUT it punches way above its price tag in terms of quality. If you find a shade that suits you, it’s definitely worth trying! I’ll keep this in my rotation of powders because I like the finish and staying power.
Have you given this a go? I’d love to hear how it works on different skin types and tones.
